Sealed Unit
The sealed unit is a key component of a window. Here are the 3 elements it is made of:
- Glass with a coating, called Low-E, that lets the sun’s heat in and uses it as a free, renewable source of heat.
- An inert gas, argon, fills the space between the panes, reducing conductivity.
- The new Technoform spacer, also used to build curtain walls and therefore very sturdy, improves the look with its black colour while maintaining equally high energy performance.
Glass Type

Double-pane Low-E argon
7/8″ thick sealed unit made of 2 panes of 3 to 6 mm glass, depending on size; meets Energy Star requirements.

Triple-pane Low-E argon (optional)
1-1/4″ thick sealed unit made of 3 panes of 3 to 6mm glass, depending on size, available as an option, with 1 or 2 Low-E coatings and argon gas between each pane, to stand up to harsh Canadian winters. The sound insulation of the triple-pane sealed unit is also a factor to consider.
Glass Finish

Frosted (optional)
The interior pane is sandblasted. Available with Low-E argon, double-pane or triple-pane glass.

Glue Chip (optional)
An adhesive is applied to the interior pane. Available with Low-E argon, double-pane or triple-pane glass.

PH Morroco (optional)
A film is applied to the interior pane. Available with Low-E argon, double-pane or triple-pane glass.
