From the very beginning, rigour, precision and respect for the material became Roberge’s signature.

More than a century later, these same principles still guide every decision.

1950

A COMPANY THAT GROWS WITH ITS REGION

Grandir sans perdre l’essentiel

Over the decades, Roberge evolved alongside its region. In 1950, the company became the largest of its kind in Abitibi-Ouest.

It was around this time that Jean-Guy Roberge, then 20 years old, joined his father. He officially took over the business in 1960 and launched a major transformation: setting up a production line, structuring operations and developing a distribution network across Abitibi-Témiscamingue and northeastern Ontario.

The company then went from a purely craft-based business to a manufacturer, without ever compromising its quality standards.

1970

THE STRENGTH OF GENERATIONS

Pass on, adapt, modernize

In the late 1970s, the third generation stepped in. Pierre and Gaétan Roberge, grandsons of the founder, carried on the family legacy by focusing on modernizing the facilities and continuously improving the products.

The plant evolved, processes were refined, and doors and windows were now designed to meet the realities of Quebec’s climate better than ever.

This handover between generations isn’t just a legacy. It’s the ability to adapt without losing sight of who we are.

1999-2025

A COMPANY FIRMLY ROOTED IN THE PRESENT

A modern vision, rooted locally

Between 1999 and 2011, Roberge opened branches in Gatineau and Nepean, expanding its presence while strengthening its expertise.

In 2016, the company was acquired by local entrepreneurs who share the same core values:
the importance of the regional economy, product quality and respect for employees.

Today, a fourth generation still works within the company.
Roberge actively contributes to Quebec’s economy and supports more than 150 jobs, while pursuing its core mission: making reliable, durable and well-designed products.

CONTINUITY

MORE THAN A HISTORY, AN ONGOING STORY

Roberge is all about passionate people

Behind every Roberge door and window are women and men who carry on a century-old craft.

Teams who understand that quality is non-negotiable and that trust is built over time.

For more than 100 years, Roberge has never stopped evolving. But one thing has never changed: the drive to deliver a product we can be proud of.

HERITAGE

A look back at our journey

To mark the 75th anniversary of Roberge & Fils, several articles and photos were published in the local newspaper to highlight how far the company had come.

These archives bear witness to a company deeply rooted in its community and looking to the future.

1914

Alexandre Roberge arrives in La Sarre

Born in Saint-Adelphe in 1892, he stepped off the train in La Sarre at age 22 and discovered a land where settlement had only just begun.

The first settlers in La Sarre, including Alexandre Roberge.

1917

The founding of the workshop

Returning to La Sarre the very year the municipality was established, Alexandre Roberge partnered with Auguste Brousseau.
