What does 2025 have in store for door and window trends? Homeowners’ choices are becoming increasingly modern and stylish, while also leaning toward better energy performance. Here’s a look at the trends that will shape colour and style choices.
1. Natural colours and earth tones
In 2025, neutral colours inspired by nature, such as olive green, earthy brown, warm grey and sand beige, will be in high demand. These soft shades create a calming atmosphere and pair perfectly with both modern and traditional homes featuring materials like stone or wood.
Matte black finishes will remain popular, offering an elegant contrast with light-coloured façades.
2. Durable, versatile materials
The focus is on environmentally friendly materials. PVC windows, like the ones we make, continue to grow in popularity thanks to their durability and low maintenance. Hybrid frames, combining aluminum and PVC, are also highly sought after for their strength and design flexibility. These materials offer both energy performance and visual appeal.
3. Modern, minimalist styles
Clean lines and simple designs are in. Oversized windows, sometimes called “window walls”, create a visual connection with the outdoors and greatly maximize natural light in the room.
Scandinavian-style homes, with their often oversized and sometimes trapezoid-shaped windows, continue to be very popular. Likewise, farmhouse-style homes, with black window framing and often black grilles, continue to win over new homeowners.
Many people, especially when renovating, also want to combine more rustic style elements with more modern ones.
4. Solid doors
Already very popular, solid (unglazed) doors are still in style. A sidelight right next to the door lets light in while giving you more privacy than a glass door. In fact, many people choose to have it frosted! The most popular colours in 2025 will be natural shades or black.
5. Improved energy performance
Energy efficiency and energy upgrades remain at the heart of many people’s decisions. Energy Star windows are valued for the comfort, durability, reduced outside noise and electricity savings they provide.
