ECORENOV program summary
- Contract entered between October 7th, 2013 and before November 1st, 2014
- Tax credit for a maximum amount of $10,000 per eligible dwelling, corresponds to 20% of the portion of an individual’s eligible expenses that exceeds $2,500.
- The residence must be in Quebec province, occupied by the owner and the renovation work must be done by a qualified contractor from Quebec province.
- The owner must keep the following documents : a detailed description of the work done, the invoices, the contractor’s sales tax number and RBQ licence number. The owner must keep those documents for a minimum of 6 years.
- An eligible dwelling is a principal place of residence, either a house (detached, semi-detached or row), a pre-fabricated house, an apartment in a divided co-ownership immovable (condominium) or a unit in a residential multiple-dwelling immovable.
- A mobile home or cottage must satisfy the following conditions : Fixed on permanent foundations, have water and sewer service, an artesian well and spetic tank, or a combination of these items supplying drinking water and evacuating waste water and be permanently connected to an electricity distribution network. It must be occupied by the owner.
- Included in the expenditures attributable : the cost of the necessary permits and the cost of studies done to obtain such permits, the GST and QST for goods and services.
- The work done must have a positive environmental or energy impact on an eligible dwelling. The bathroom or kitchen renovations are not eligible.
- An Energy Star qualified product is a good proof of eco-friendly renovation.
- The eligible expenditures must be paid in the year and, where the given taxation year is taxation year 2014, in the year or in the first 120 days of taxation year 2015.
